More Information

Many like myself had a question "If I buy a new Intel chip like the E8400 with a new mobo, will I be able to post and update the BIOS without having a recognized CPU in place first?" After trolling the web for an answer I came across this linked article ...

http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=3138&p=1

Basically it lists most of the major brand motherboards and what is needed to work with the new cpus.. be it a BIOS update or a board revision. If you don't see anything in the comment section then it should post with the new chip but you will have to update the BIOS to gain full recognition and overclocking abilities.

Hope this relieves some anxiety like it did me :)
