Formatt a dvd =+R

i am totally new to transfering my vhs tapes to a dvd by a usb vhs grabber.silver crest.
however i have tried to burn a number of dvds on a trial basis but am not getting the proper results in my editing etc. so i want to format these dvds +R, AS ONLY APPROX 5 MINUTES RECORDINGS HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADED ONTO THESE DISCS, and want to try again. without using any more discs,

help.

You are using a "Write Once" media, not one that can be re-written.
