If it's just happening lately, figure out what's changed. Have you tried blowing the gunk/dust out of the HS? Is it hotter in your computer room than when it was running cooler? Are you overclocking now, and you weren't before?

Personally, I've got a Scythe Ninja that I'm happy with. But it's a royal pain in the butt to get in place.

Yeah, what do you mean by lately? If it used to have acceptable temperatures, figure out what happened. Clean it, remount it, check all fans in your case and make sure you have good air flow.

I used a zalmon fan/hs an was very happy with it for overclocking. There are many acceptable solutions for you if you are looking for another fan/hs. Budget needs to be balanced with expected performance. Not sure about the link you gave. I personally wouldn't buy asus for fan/hs. Their strength seems to be motherboards and maybe vidcards.

Splendid
The fans on AMD chips aren't what they used to be. (cheap plastic pos). On the other hand, you dont leave much choice. The hyper TX is for Intel only, and none of the asus units look like they will help the vrms or toroid coils much. The coolermaster is a good enough unit, though it is quite expensive when you add the two 120 mm fans.
The extra fans are a must, but get decent ones.

The cheap fix would be to get an Artic Freezer 7 Pro it's only £15 that'll sort the temp problem. But as others have said whats caused the cpu temp to increase? Something simple like next to a radiator?

You didn't start overclocking did you? Hmmm random reboots could be multiple things. But, going by the situation, with the CPU suddenly running much hotter. I can almost guarantee it's the CPU overheating causing the bios to shut down or restart the pc. I've had this kind of issue before. The Heat sink retention ring (the black plastic ring around the CPU socket) had somehow managed to break, one of the two lugs that the cooler pressure clip clamps to had broken off. Leaving the cooler just hanging there off the other lug. So check that first. You may need to replace that mounting module.

Otherwise if you want to get a better cpu cooler, and you can find them in the UK, I suggest these.

And then use either Arctic Silver 5, or I recommend Arctic Cooling MX-2

Hi, Are you using the standard fan that came with your chip? We have noticed that the AMD 6000+ chip seems to run a bit higher with the standard fan but using alternatives tends to resolve this. Tronix have a whole range of fans -(if this is what you need) from Asus, Coolermaster, and Thermaltake. Just thought Iwould suggest also that you check for virus/spyware activity as recently a customer brought a machine with exactly the same problem and the CPU was @100%. We used AVG Antivirus/Spyware and it sorted it out.

Just thought I'd Mention that the coolermaster Hyper FX works on both intel and AMD chips http://www.tronixcomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=116
