Hey y'all,

I am looking to upgrade my BF2 server and have a question. Does anyone know the specific differences between the Brisbane G1 and G2 steppings?

For example, the Brisbane x2 4800+ has two part numbers right now:

ADO4800DDBOX (I believe this is G1 stepping)

ADO4800DOBOX (I believe this is G2 stepping)

Also, I assume that any AM2 board with a current BIOS rev would recognize the G2 stepping. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks much!

Thanks for the info, amdfan.

Also, after sifting through many pages of google results, I found a couple of tidbits that said the G2 stepping fixes the cache latency problem that affected the first Brisbane stepping.

So G2 is definitely the way to go.
