as i stated the drive is compressed, whati did was the pc said i could make space on the drive,so i did but it compressed it .now when i connect it it say,s push ctrl.alt del.after doing this it comes up with password required(poss 6 didgets),you have three chances then back to ctrl, alt del.i never entered any password to compress it so i have no idea what it is,please help.

OK, let's don't overlook anything that may be quite simple,

When you connect? Is this an external drive? If so, connect to same computer that did the compression.
Make sure you are logged-on as an Administrator
Try just clicking Next or Ok as may be the case (since you did not enter a password at time of compression).
    Try 6 spaces.
Try your logon password (if you have one)

I'm out of ideas. I'd never compress a drive so have no experience with this particular problem.
Last to try, get a compressed-drive password-cracking program and see what it finds as the password, or
hope someone else here has the answer.

  4. thanks for these idea,s i will try it and get back to you, thank you
