I have my e7200 running at a 331x9.5 multiplier(3.144mhz) and my core temp is showing core 0: 63 c and core 1: 60 in speed fan 58 and 54. I used Tuniq TX2 and i hav ethe retention bracket, is there anyway i could have put to much TIM or are these temps fine. Also i have a 140mm fan pulling exhaust directly out of the cooler and a 120 right next to it as well as 2 intake 120s. This is while running ORTHOS
If you are having trouble, you need to do two things. Make sure you alligned the middle pipe of the cooler in such a way that the mid pipe is going DOWN the length of your Cores, and not just crossing them.
Locate the Pins that determine how your CPU is to be placed in the socket, and then use this chart only for the placement of the middle pipe, right down the line!
damn so im screwed then, i originally had it like that and then when i slid my motherboard in i realized that my 140mm fan on top(antec 300 case) total blocks the massive heat sink so i spent like the 30 mins to flip it to the "wrong way" my motherboards p45 heat sink makes screwing in the last screw a bitch with that tiny wrench.
LOL, yeah, but that is the way it needs to go, and the best way that "I" have learned to apply the paste, due to the spacers being a tiny bit longer than the pipes.
Lapping will cure this as well, better than just trying not to let a paste get under the spacers so as to give the pipes that tiny extra bit of contact. IE, not having the same layer of paste under the spacers lets the pipes get that much more contact before the spacers restrict it.
ya i thought about laping it because its actually a really rough finish but at this point i don't feel its worth the effort of reinstalling it. Im just happy that i went form pentium 4 @ 3mhz to a e7200 @3.13 im might turn it and figure it out so i can squeeze out some more mhz. also double my ram from 2gb at 667 to 4gb at 800 and a geforce 6200 to a asus 4850 so im kidn of happy with it all running in vista ult 64bit
