Not everyone needs quads, as only a few programs and game take advantage of it.. at least for another year or so.

Duo's also overclock a lot better because of the low multipliers on the quads.

Because $225 gets you 3 GHz as opposed to $280 for 2.4GHz. Unless you are doing graphics rendering or video editing, or playing supreme commander, the 3GHz dual core will outperfrom the 2.4GHz quad.

3.8-4ghz will be cake!

1333fsb is the limting factor

2200/1333= 1.65x 3ghz = 5ghz you need to splash some water on it!

Patience...keep waiting...and waiting...

1 year later, you can get an awesome pc!

5 years later, you can get a crazy pc!

30 years later...you might be dead. :(

Actually I remember reading a review about Supreme Commander & quad core CPUs. While SC can take advantage of quads, it is not optimized.

Under Windows Vista one core was at about 90% while the remaining three cores were hovering around 50% (maybe less).

Under Windows XP two cores were at about 90% while the other two were hovering around 50% (maybe less).

I believe I read that over at [H]ard|OPC
