Anyone have a clue how long the 3870 x2 will be. I'm thinking of canceling my step up for an 8800GT now that I've heard x2 will arrive one week early, but I'm worried it won't fit in my mid-tower. My 8800GTS only has about 3/4 of an inch clearance in my case. Will the x2 be much longer?

Also, I have OCZ gamexstream 600, which doesn't have an 8 pin power connector, is that going to be a problem, or will I be able to use a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter?

I have an Asus P5E and twin HD 3870s, the cards are just a little shorter than the mobo (i think) and each has a 6 pin power connector. But the X2 looks quite a lot longer.

@San Pedro. My suggestion is to make a decision after the card gets reviewed next week. Some tech websites show pictures of the card after it is installed in the case. Until then, you will not know the length of the card. The people who know are not sharing the information. Also, I think the 3870X2 will only have two 6 pin connectors and no 8 pin connectors. But I do not know for sure, it is just speculation.

@LAN_deRf_H. The 9800GTX2 is ENORMOUS! It will be at least 2 inches longer than a 8800 GTX. You will need an eATX case to house it. Or you will have to cut the hard drive cage out of your case. Again speculation.

After looking again I have 1 1/2 inch to 2 inch to spare, and from the pics on the web it seems like they don't put either of the power connectors at the end. All the pictures I've seen of it look like it has one 6 pin and one 8 pin connector.

BTW, I need to make a decision soon, I already started the step-up process.
