Can anybody Please help me out????

I'm trying to connect to an external server using a VPN & Remote Desktop.

At my house I can establish a connection with the VPN & I also can use Remote Desktop to access the server. No Problems there.

But when I'm trying to access the external server at work through the LAN (server is not located at my work but at a different company) I can establish a connection using the Cisco VPN, but Remote Desktop will not connect. Error message says "This computer can't connect to the Remote Computer" that's all I get.

Which leads me to believe that our companies Watchguard X1000 firewall is blocking the outgoing connection.

Does anyone have any ideas what I need to do to get this remote desktop working on our network???? Thank You!

Can you ping the server from work?

Check with the Network Admin and see if they are blocking port 3389, RDP default port.

As mentioned - Check with your admin about blocked RDP ports.

Port 3389 is open.

At home, does the vpn connect to the company with the server or does it connect with your company? Its possible the other company is blocking RDP outside of its network. Remember when your on a vpn you appear to be on the local network.
