1st, apologies if his is posed in the wrong section,
I'll try and give as much info as possible, but as you'll soon realise im a bit of a novice!
Anyways, I have just replaced my amd athlon 2400+ with a amd sempron 3000(barton core i believe if it makes a difference)
now i believe the 2400 had a fsb of 266 (133 in bios) however the 3000 has a fsb of 333. however the option in the bios to change from 133 to 166(333) is greyed out. any ideas?
My motherboard is a Time K7M-400 Motherboard which i believe has a VIA chipset?
I wonder if your mobo has a max FSB of 266 and can't do 333. I have a PC that has an old mobo with an Athlon xp 2600+ that has a fsb of 266 and can't take anything higher. If it can't you will be stuck at what your CPU multiplier is x the FSB speed., thus resulting in a lower than normal CPU speed.
This is just a shot in the dark, though.

I don't know if this will make any difference, but try removing that odd stick of pc2100 ram. You are using two completely different types of ram, and now a new CPU with a different FSB... it could be messing with it.
Well, don't jump the gun on that. I don't know if that will really make any difference. But, the reason I asked that is that sempron is a much newer processor than the 2400 you had in there. It is possible with a new bios, that the CPU would be correctly identified. On the other hand, flashing the bios could lead to other problems... I never do it, unless it is needed.
But yes, you should be able to flash with a 3.5 drive. The exact procedure is a little different with every board though.
