Hi friends,

I´ve, wrongly, bought 2 pairs of Dual Channel memory OCZ PC2 8500 1066Mhz to use on Asus Stryker Extreme.
After a lot of blue screens (installing, on windows, etc...), I´ve found out that this motherboard accept only at DDR 2 800Mhz.
With this information, I´ve installed and used windows with a pair of dual channel memories running at 800 Mhz.
Is there a way to still use my 1066 Mhz memory? Any BIOS configuration, or even the clock down the memory?

Thanks,
Rodolfo Fontes

my guess is your not suplying the memory enough voltage. memory can always run slower than rated, assuming its not bad memory

Probably vdimm, but there are some boards that won't do over 800mhz at 4gig+.

Try upping your vdimm in bios to .1 - .2 beyond specs. i.e. specs is 2.1v & you give it up to 2.3v.

Then do memtest which should've been done at stock speeds the very 1st time you put it together. If the parts are unstable at stock, they won't be stable overclocked.
