If I am going to use a Core 2 Quad CPU, say Q6600, is it preferable to use X38? or is it ok to use P35 chipset?

(ignore the fact that X38 has PCI Express 2.0 Interface)

Thank you!!~

If you look at the application performance benchmarks(vs. synthetic) for the same cpu, there is almost no difference between X38 and P35. Since the bios of P35 boards are more mature, I would vote for P35. Also, they generally cost less and you have more choices.

If you are into high overclocking, X38 might be better.

The P35 has no SLI support.
