hey everyone, this is my first build and im having some troubles. I have flashed the new p32 bios on my 680i se mobo so i can use my e8400. i got everything working right(installed vista x64), ran good for about 4 hours then froze and would not respond at vista login screen. i thought it was a o.s. problem so i reinstalled. everything went fine, then about 4 hours later, it froze again while playing oblivion. now it will not post at all throwing up memory errors. tested memory on a friends pc and works fine.

is my mobo done for? any help would be appreciated.

more specs would be great...

however, did you make sure that RAM was seated correctly? Is the RAM running at correct spec (ie frequency, timings and voltage)?

What do you mean by memory errors? have you used memtest86+ bootable at all?

Wolfdale cpus are supported in the most recent BIOS update which you have done.

Have you tried single sticks of you RAM to see if you get a post

Take out your ram.
Reset Cmos.
Boot with no ram you will get an error.
Reset Cmos.
Install one stick.
You should get into Bios now.
Set Bios at specs for your ram. Leaving it on auto is probably under volting.
Save seiings and power down.
Add more Ram.
Enjoy.
