Howdy gangs.

I have a newbie question for ya. what does Matrix raid mean? is there any difference between RAID and Matrix raid?

as all the motherboards list like this:
SB ICH10R
sata RAID: 0/1/5/10
there is no "matrix raid" mentioned. but I do think I see some options in the bios or somewhere, "Matrix storage tech" so the same tech?

I know that Nvidia also has their own Raid supporting chipset.
or does this mean like this:

ICH10R supports 0/1/5/10 with Matrix storage raid, you can raid 0/1/5/10 at the same time. the more complexer than normal referred "RAID"

Thank you guys for clearing this up

Matrix RAID is Intel's RAID solution available on chipsets that support it. You could use all possible RAIDs at the same time, but I don't recommend that you do. You can visit Intel's support site for more info.

Yup, I read the intel's website and asked the question.
Matrix raid = raid. (not including Nvidia RAID)
Google is not almighty. sorry

Since Matrix RAID is Intel's solution, it obviously isn't NVidia, Adaptec, HP, etc.
