Is that memory running at stock voltage? If so I don't see why it would fry, even if it did I'm sure OCZ have a decent warranty that you could use to replace the memory.

And since your using an 64 bit OS (you must be since you want 4Gb of ram, is possible under 32bit but requires a bit work in order for Windows to use it), and the price of DDr2 memory getting 8Gb isn’t as extreme as it sound.

As for brand I can recommend Crucial, life time warranty, solid performance and overclock’s well.

Agreed! I just got my replacement RAM back from Crucial, it only took about a week return trip. :) I even let Crucial temporarly charge my credit card so I would have no computer downtime, after I got the new memory and they got the defective kit back Crucial returned my money with-in one day. :D

It would be easier to answer if we knew what specific memory you have now.

OP is this the RAM you have now, OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop??? If so I don't see a problem, you almost aways have to go into BIOS and make things right reguarding RAM timings and voltages. My memory is running at 2.2v right now and there not fried.

I want to go with Crucial but they don't do there Ballistix range in 2GB sticks, I want to install 4GB but using 4x1GB sticks is not for overclocking so I'm told.
