Hi
i am using a speedtouch THOMSON ST585 router , and i am trying to forward the ssh port (22) .
i followed the standard instructions listed in port forward site
http://www.portforward.com/english [...] 85/SSH.htm
it is straight forward , but it is not working because the port 22 still closed

http://www.dyndns.com/support/tools/openport.html
-An attempted connection to 196.219.168.113:22 was refused. This typically indicates that there are no services available on that port, but that it is NOT being blocked by a firewall or your ISP.

http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/
- Port 22 is Closed

http://www.canyouseeme.org/
-
Error: I could not see your service on 196.219.168.113 on port (22)
Reason: Connection refused

is there any way to open this closed port , i can't even find any thing in the router manual.

Note the ISP is not blocking the service while it allows the real IP machines to be sshed "no need to port forwarding"

some thing also strange , that can't open the remote assistance
it is disabled and there is no way to open it .
is this related to the services that the router supports ?

Try using in the LAN IP 196.219.168.113 on port 22, not the WAN IP. You may need to setup a rule.

i am using the WAN IP because i need some one remotely to ssh my local machines , so port forwarding is needed .
the LAN ssh is working ,even the remote ssh for the machines having real IPs is working , because there is no need to port forwarding .

second , why i can't enable the remote assistance .
thanks

Hindi,

From the same site, I found another link more specific than the one you have. Below:

http://portforward.com/english/rou [...] /eMule.htm

Follow the instructions until you see "Create a new game or application" section. Now enters these into the corresponding boxes:

Protocol => TCP
Port Ranges => 22 to 22
Translate to => <IP address of your internal PC you want ssh into>
Triggered Protocol => TCP
Triggered Port => 22

Click [Add]. I think that should do the trick.
