I have one of the last MBs that had 2x full 16 PCI-E slots before AMD2 came out And am wondering if I add a 2nd 8800gt would i get bottlenecks?

A8N32 SLI Delux MB
AMD Athlon 4400+ 64x2 duel
2.21 Ghz 2.00 GB of Ram
600watt Zalman SLI ready PS ( heatpipe cooled )

is this worthy of an upgrade.. i am useing windows xp pro atm as well.. so should i go vista and 2 more gigs of ram ?

So that means you have an 939Socket?

Unless you're going to overclock your cpu, there will be a bottleneck in most games, but it really depends on the resolution you play on.

If you want to play Crysis mostly on high, it may be worth it.

What resolution do you play at? What games are you finding your system isn't cutting it as is?

I think in many games your cpu will hold back SLI 8800GT to a point it may not be worth it. I have found that overclocking my Q6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.0GHz boosted performance with two cards in Crysis, even at 1680x1050 2xaa/16xaf. In general, the higher the resolution you game at, and the more eye candy like fsaa you use, the more SLI will help. If you game at 1280x1024 on a 19" LCD, forget it. If you game at 1920x1200 on a 24" LCD, then it may benefit you. With that CPU, I would stick to one card and OC for added fps.

I'd go with pauldh's suggestion.

Get an after-market cooler and overclock.
