Hi, i have buyed a hard disk

details:
( Samsung SpinPoint F1 Desktop Class HD103UJ
Harddisk 1 TB intern harddisk 3.5" SATA-300 7200 rpm buffer: 32 MB )

i have a main hard disk and an extra one and they are bouth Samsung SpinPoint F1 Desktop Class HD103UJ ( the same type )

but now when i have the extra hard disk wired, then the pc freeze sometimes in defferent time 0,1-12 sec or so.

the pc is only 2-3 month old, and are now hot or dusty at any ways.

bouth hard disk are running on NTFS file system.

i have windows vista home Premium 64 bit.

can you see the hard drive in the Bios? If you disconnect the drive, does the computer still freeze?

yes, if i disconnect the "extra hard disk " then the problem is away :D but i still need my hard disk

we assume that you slave you HDD correctly since it made the desktop freeze from time to time.

when you plug in your extra HDD check if there's anything wrong in

control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management.

when you connect your extra samsung HDD, does it appears in there.
If it does, let's say it states disk 1 on the left column.
Does it has a red colour stop sign on it??
If it does right click on the stop sign and choose the options given.
Which I think is Basic or something I cannot remember...

Then next to it, the right box, right click and then click new partition. (I'm assuming that your extra HDD is new and there's nothing inside, you need to format it to get it working.)

That's about it...

Open my computer, it should work fine by now.
