Failed to access NetBT driver -- NetBT may not be loaded

Last response: in Windows XP

if ntbtstat -r or any of its variant fails to locate the driver try replacing the sys files that affect this service, take them from a healthy computer running same Operating System or you can take them from the Windows Setup Disk, though you risk getting older versions of your files.
In windows XP the file would be netbt.sys but I would also throw in there netbios.sys, you can locate these drivers in:
c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

Replace and reboot.

Yes replacing the driver will work. in my case the problem was a virus infected the file and it was blocking me from viewing any shares, connecting to the server, joining computer to domain etc. scanned computer with Hitman 3.0 and problem was solved.
