I have an Epson Perfection V 300 Scanner. Yesterday I was told that my computer would not recognize my scanner
I attempted to reinstall the driver, and I was told that the target disk was read only. I totally removed the old software before doing the reinstall. I even deleted the epson folder in program files. I restarted the computer and tried to reinstall again without effect.
I also tried using the found new hardware tool. I was told to insert the disk which contains service pack 3, because I needed the "ubscan sys" file. I have service pack 3, but the file was not found.
The scanner worked properly on my computer for a couple of years, before I even had service pack 3.
. Restore does not erase your personal files and is reversible.
click all programs
click system tools
click system restore
check the box that says restore my computer to an earlier time, click next
select a bold date on the calender, a date before the problem started, click next
follow through with the restore directions
restart the computer after it finishes
if the system restore does not work, select an even earlier bold date on the calender and repeat the procedure
try this with at least four earlier dates before giving up and trying something else
