Hi there, in exactly one month I will be buying a new system, containing:
Now, concerning my harddrives I'd really like to combine speed and safety and thought of a way to achieve this, namely:
WD 640GB AALS #1 system
---------------
C: OS & Applications (160GB)
Z: Backup Data (480GB)
WD 640GB AALS #2 data
---------------
D: Media (560GB)
T: Tracking (80GB)
The system drive will have the swap file running.
The data drive's media partition will be used for media editing/storage and downloads.
The tracking partition will be used solely for audio recording, finished projects will then be moved to the media partion for further editing.
I will manually backup important files from the data drive to the system drive's backup partition.
Now I'd really appreciate some advice and opinions on this matter, the web is scattered with partitioning strategies, raid configurations and whatnot, and I kinda got lost.
Thanks for reading,
Greets Rowan.
