I have a dead mobo that I want to RMA to Newegg but I have a 3D mercury case which is water cool included. I had to install a backplate to the mobo which is attached by double sided tape. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the backplate so that I can RMA it? Thank you for the help.

So you need to remove the double sided tape correct? I would try a hair dryer. It should be easier to remove when it's warm.

I second the hair dryer method. Had to do the same thing to remove a heatsink bracket from my motherboard. Just be sure not to pry down on the motherboard with anything, or if you do, put something rigid down between the motherboard and the instrument your using to pry with. This way the force is spread out over a large area instead of focused in one small spot.
