The screen on my Sony Vaio has switched from landscape to portrait mode. I think that I mistakenly hit a group of keys.

How do I get it to change back to landscape?

You could try <ctrl>-<alt>-<arrow key> to rotate the screen. (It is supposed to work, but doesn't on my PC, and is only temporary.) Alternatively, right-click on the Desktop, select "Screen resolution", and change "Orientation" to "Portrait"; this is permanent.
