I'm putting a Rampage Formula X48 in my new rig:

I've read that the NB temps run a little high and I was planning on buying a 40mm fan to help with that:

I wanted some opinions on where/how to secure it and if it's even a good idea.

Thanks

I would think with a 120MM fan on your CPU cooler to move air in the area, and good airflow through your case you would be fine. What CPU and cooler were you going to use?

I'm gonna be using an E8500 with a Freezer 7 Pro and MX-2 thermal. I also plan on OCing in the near future.

Edit: And I'm gonna be using Armor+ as my case:

For a little more you could get a bigger fan, that would pull alot of air over your NB heatsink :)

Since you are getting a dual core, it would be oriented the same as mine, look at the pics, post is like one down.
