I've spent an hour trying to research this, but I can't come up with a clear answer.

I bought this motherboard the other day to go with my video card. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059

It says that the memory standard on the motherboard is DDR2 1066. I am using a Core 2 Dou E6750 2.66GHZ with 1333FSB. However, the memory I got for this system last week is only DDR2 800. Here is the memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034

My question is whether or not this will work, or if there will be any major performance issues. I don't plan to do any overclocking.

check gigabyte's web

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2629

they link to

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/MemorySupport/motherboard_memory_ga-p35-ds3l_2.0.pdf

this board will support 1066, 800, and 667 no problem just like most if not all P35 chipsets

the memory you bought is good quality and would probably overclock quite well....perhaps even to 1066 (just a thought)

The performance will be fine, though obviously a little less memory bandwidth....

Do you plan to overclock?

You will be fine.
For 1333 FSB, you only need DDR2 667 running at dual channel.
Addtional memory bandwidth give very little performance gain to your system since it already max out the CPU's capability.

With DDR 2 800 at dual channel, you can run 1600 FSB with 1:1 ratio

Try to lower the CAS Latency to 3 and run the memory at 667. It should give you more performance than 800@CAS 4, assuming you are using 1333FSB.
