i have a 2900pro that i cant overclock because my powersupply only has 2 6pin power connectors. i need a 6pin and an 8pin connected to get the atiovercllock function enabled. does anyone know a schematic that shows the voltages and grounds of each pin so i can make one? or have a powersupply that has 8pins and a dvom to manualy check the voltages on the extra pins? i dont want to replace a perfectly good psu or get rid of the card and get a 3870.

You can go get 6pin to 8pin connectors.

The one in the middle is the 6pin -->8pin. The only problem now is finding where to buy one.

That's brilliant, ask a question, get the answer and then don't believe it.
You're probably better off doing the research on your own and finding out that what Zorg has taken the time to provide you is correct.

You can make an adapter if you want. But trust me, it's cheaper and easier to just buy an adapter.

You can buy one here.

Do whatever tickles your tuckus.

Just go buy an adapter if you're that paranoid. People who have far more Google-fu more or less already answered your question.

zorg's post of that drawing is accurate. i cut an old 4 pin mobo plug off a non working powersupply and cut the plug right down the middle and then put the half that fit into the last 2 holes and stuck the sires in the adjacent grounds a bam atioverclock was unlocked on next boot and i was able to bump the clock of gpu from 601mhz to a whopping 889mhz and memory from 800 to 890mhz. what a difference it made too. no slowdowns period except in crysis. thanks for the help. by the way i found a site that hade a detailed pinout diagram that confirmed the drawing so then i check for continuity between the grounds and it was there so i crossed my fingers and hooked it up powered up and victory was ours.
