BOOTMGR is missing

I have vista business started it up today and saying BOOTMGR is missing. I have tried reinstalling the os and doing a system startup recovery and nothing so far.

bootrec /rebuildbcd:
Successfully scanned windows installations.
Total identified windows installations: 0
the operation completed successfully

bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup:
The store export operation has failed.
The required system device cannot be found.

ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old:
The device is not ready

Also is cannot find the OS to load the drivers

Hi harmonjo,

Follow below Steps to solve your Problem -:

Insert Vista installation DVD into your computer drive.
1. restart your computer.
2.Press a key when it prompted PRESS ANY KEY TO START FROM CD-ROM.
3.Select a language and click Next.
4.Click Repair your computer.
5.Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6.In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
7.type bootsec /fixboot or bootrec /fixboot.

then your computer bootmgr will fix :) .
