not bad at all...

Ofcource the real competition is against 8800 GT ib sli mode, or the 9800 X2. But if the price is right this seems to be reasonable card.

yes not bad at all.... although arent crysis and lost planet known to have xfire/sli issues? mayb new drivers can fix this?

wow. how bad ass would it be if ati had quad crossfire drivers for these cards. that would be absolutely sick. :pt1cable:

Yea these are really good scores. Remember that Crysis came out just a few weeks before AMD produced these drivers. It only goes up from here, and for the MSRP, this seems like a complete bargain and well worth the money for sure.

I love my 3870s. Unfortunately, my mobo won't handle 4 of them. I do have the Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6, and there are 4 slots for Videocards, unfortunately it won't fit 4 3870s. Just not enough physical room. I might be able to squeeze a 3rd in there. It will be close. These puppies play Crysis at 1600x1200 everything on HIGH, and it's a very enjoyable playing experience. LOVE em! And the price? I got 2 of these for less than an 8800 Ultra.

I believe the 9800GX2 will no doubt beat these scores, I'd like to see what happens went AA is turned on. :whistle:

Unfortunately for us 8800 GTX owners, this is just another vid card not worth 'upgrading' to, the 9800GX2 may not even be worth an upgrade to when it releases. We need a new champion that makes us gtx owners want to go out and get.

Its only just a bit better then one ultra but I think the scaleability ratio is very high so adding a second one should close to 1.5+ times the performance.

Agreed, dual card is all very well but the price nvidia intend to charge for the 9800gx2 is i believe going to be very very high.

Why the f..k are 1600 by 1000 widescreen rez still not benchied. Surely 20 and 22 inch monitors are the vast majority anyhows!!??

I hope you mean 1600x1200 or 1680x1050, otherwise, I stand by my previous :lol: That monitor has some whacked dimensions.

What happened to the Tom's Hardware article from yesterday, Tuesday 22nd, about the 3870 X2 card? I read it yesterday and now it is not on their site. I did a Google search and found a link that was dead. Anyone have any idea why they removed the article?

Oh the title of the article was" ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2-Fastest yet! Had some great benchmarks between the 8800 Ultra, 3870 X2, 3870.

I am in that thread, we were posted 50 minutes apart, I was the latter poster. I searched for any threads and at that time came up with nothing so I created this one. That thread has taken off more then this one has/will.

Depending on what your Google search finds.... from $400-$800. I saw most things say closer to the $450-$500 mark.
