whenever i launch crysis or cod 4 or nsf prostreet n play like 5 mins, my game hangs and gives me the error "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding but has succesfully recovered"
i have zotac 8800gt amp with the 169.25 i deleted n installed it back the it still hangs i checked my gpu temp its around 51 C
the weird thing is few days back i was playing crysis for hours it didnt hang
i have vista ultimate 32 bit
please guys help me i cant play those games more than 5 or 10 minutes
If using Vista AND gaming 3GB is the min for RAM. I bought 4GB and Vista sees 3.5GB, not bad. But it could very well be a resource problem. When I used to play Hellgate London, the game ITSELF would use 1.5GB of RAM. Which is just about hitting the RAM limit for once proces in windows 32 bit(2GB). Try playing with very low settings and see if it crashes, could be specific setting as well. Could also be a backround process Antivirus etc. Go to task manager and end everything under your username except explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe

Its a known problem in Vista, nothing else. (you can google it)
They sent out an update to fix it but it still happens once in a while
I sometimes get the same thing on CoH

I rarely get a problem where the game used to crash instantly when it was started, before it even could pop up. I used to get a driver not responding error in LOTR:BFME several times in a row (3 to be exact, when I finally exited the game it popped up 3 times), but the game kept chugging along. As said, maybe it's a Vista thing.
