I've looked around the forums like 10 times trying to find out where to post this....eh, no idea where this thread should be. ANYWAY, heres the problem.

- I have a computer with a floppy disk drive connected, by sata cable, to the motherboard. I want to disconnect the floppy disc and connect a dvd-drive to the computer in order to re-flash the bios of the dvd drive. Problem is, whenever I disconnect the floppy disk from the sata cable the computer won't boot, at all. How can I fix this and connect the DVD drive?

I've got a Dell with windows XP.

Doubt seriously it's a SATA and if it is, seriously, please post the mfg and model or a link to the web site. Agree, check the boot order in the BIOS and if you have to hdd, check their order in the BIOS. The one with the OS has to be the top one, think number 1
