alright, just been putting this puppy together for the last few days (mainly for gaming) and I am just wondering, since I'm not all that versed in computer stuff, will all of these parts work together? and/or what would be some good parts to swap for some of these?

(building it on Newegg.com)

thanks in advance and i really appreciate your help.

ps. here's a link if looking at all of that hurts your eyes :)

Nothing really stands out, other than the GPU. Maybe step up to a 8800GT. If you want people to see your wish list make sure you check share over on the right side.

Some possible improvements:

- replace the IP35Pro with a GA-P35-DS3L and save $80 (unless there is some feature in the IP35 Pro that the DS3L doesn't have and you want it).

- replace the 8600GT with an HD 3850 512MB or an HD 3870 512MB. Performance will be double in some games.

- get a more powerful PSU. Something like Corsair 550VX or OCZ StealthXStream 600W would be fine, and not very expensive.

- can't really say if the E4500 is a good idea. It may be fast enough for your needs. An E6750 would be better, and not much more money. The E8500 is due out one of these days, and it will be even better, and under $300.

That PSU is not the greatest. Efficiency is <70% which means more power will be wasted. If you end up buying the 8800gt, you're going to need a better PSU.

thanks for the input, guys. very much appreciated. so, i'm about to finalize this and put it on the back burner for a few months because of school and I am contemplating over getting a 8800gt for just a little under $100 more. that and the psu, motherboard (to a GA-P35-DS3L), and the processer recommendations. if anyone sees anything else changeable for saving money, again, i'd love to hear it. thanks again.

alright, went through newegg.com and re-adjusted my wish-list. please take a loot and see what you guys think! if you think this is a decent build, i'm gunna finalize it and leave it. again, thanks for the great help. And also, this is my 1st pc i've ever built, so any tips for setting up or a great site to build something like mine would be great!

If you are gonna buy XP get OEM XP HOME. Getting an upgrade does conflict with the license terms from MS.
