Hey everone...

I'm upgrading my motherboard to this one...

The cpu will be a q6600 slacr.

I want to put 4gb of ram in this board. I'm using xp pro 32 bit now and plan to upgrade to xp pro 64 bit once I make sure all my software / hardware is compatible. I know that only 3gb or so will be shown to be available and I can live with that for now. Here is the ram compatibility spec sheet for this mb but it hasn't helped me much...

I need to get 2x2gb instead of 4x1gb because I also plan to max out the ram to 8gb once I upgrade to xp pro 64. The reason for 8gb of ram is that I use @ 10 or more applications when I am trading (several charting platforms, 3 broker's platforms, Camtasia, news service, chat room, etc...) and I need as much RAM as possible. I have 2gb now and I nearly max out the memory on a regular basis.

I've searched this forum and have only found recommendations for 4x1gb ram. Newegg has several 2x2gb options and I'm unsure which is best. In the past I've only purchased Kingston and Corsiar ram but now it seams that several other less expensive options either do just as well or are even better as far as performance and stability.

Also, I do plan on overclocking the q6600 to around 3ghz but not much higher. I'm a day trader and I only play a few games here and there at most.

So what should I get? Here is the Newegg page with the 2x2gb options...

Honestly, I don't know which one is best. The 1066 speed is sold out most of the time so 800 is fine.

Let me know what I should get. Thanks...EWB
