No everything will work the same, you install the software as usual, you point at the icon on the desk top, right click, left click on properties, set compatibility to XP.

The rest of the system like the video card will work as windows 7. No you don't install XP.

Be sure to read about the XP mode on the microsoft website, and it does not work with anything.

Look at the two links I posted above. It's got screenshots on how to run the XP compatibility mode, and virtual XP mode.

To install XP, you'll need a full copy of XP.

The whole point of virtual XP mode, is to rule out the need for the XP installation. Did you look at the 2nd link above?

There are step by step support videos here.

Basically, if your hardware meets the requirements, you download the software. Then you can run the older software. You don't realize it, but it's running in a virtual mode.

Are you trying to run a anti-virus software for Windows? If so, running that in compatability mode under Win 7 is a bad idea. What programs are you trying to run that only work in XP?

You can look on Konica's web site for that, and you can find plenty of 64 bit antivirus programs out there. This link is to the 64 bit version of ESET (nod) http://download.cnet.com/ESET-NOD32-Antivirus-64-bit/30...

No need to get all fancy with trying to get things to work, just look for the correct application for your system.
