So my system has been hanging....a lot.

So far i can't open Azureus, or right click in the 'my computer' window on any of my drives w/o it hanging. The weird thing is that the mouse still works but Ctrl-Alt-Delete won't.

I've also been having problems with boot up: The pc will get there but it may take a few tries first.

I have a an AMD x2 64 4200 (AM2)

Gigabyte S5 Mobo

And 2 OCZ 512 (800) RAM

I know that the RAM is not on the computability list for this particular MOBO so might that be the problem?

Its def not the power as i have 600 watts going in this thing. It's a homebuilt system thats about a year old. I had a few problems before but never like this and never this consistent. I've also been out of the country for six months, and just dusted it off with compressed air and turned it on.

Start --> Run --> eventvwr.msc

Any error messages there under the Application or System trees?

I know you say the PSU is 600 watts, but what brand is it, and what are the specs listed on the side? I know I once had problems with a junky 500 watt PSU, it was brand new, failed 2-4 weeks later, suspect it too a new mobo with it. So if your PSU is junk, yes it can cause probs.

Stupid Question

Try going into safe mode.

If the issues go away in safe mode, it is most likely some bad software or drivers. If it still hangs in safe mode, its most likely a hardware problem.
