i had been running vista 32 for a while on one harddrive, i decided to give vista 64 a try a few months ago so i put it onto another harddrive and i really like it.

so i went to pull out the drive that had the 32 bit version on it and now when i try to boot into the 64 bit drive i get a no boot mgr detected error

how do i make the 64 bit drive bootable without needing the 32 bit drive to be installed as well.

There's an awesome little utility I've been using for years for just such occasions. Called Super Grub Disk. Build the bootable CD, and anytime you screw up the bootmgr for Windows (or Linux), just throw in the disk, select Win BootMGR, and there you go. Instant fix damn near every time.

Every techie should have it :)
