I am buying a Intel P35 based motherboard. I am also sticking with XP os. Do these boards have built in support for SATA or do I still have to mess around with a floppy? And in that case should I buy a mb with a floppy connector? Finally, what is a good mb(P35) in the $100 to $150 range? thanks.

"Do these boards have built in support for SATA or do I still have to mess around with a floppy?"

It is not an either/or; they are two separate issues.

Like a lot of us here, I have decided to leave out the floppy drive on my new builds. I have a USB floppy drive that gets plugged in where I need it. Counting two desktops and two laptops, I used it about 6 times last year.

Yes, the Intel P35 SATA (non RAID) controller has support without drivers. If you use the RAID controller you need a F6 floppy.
