In November I purchased a 1TB Seagate 7200 and have not had any problems with it yet but I feel a need to upgrade the firmware before I do. I currently have the model ST3100340AS with the firmware SD15 which is apparently the bad one. Looking through guides / posts people have linked to the SD1A firmware but usually refer to it as the 1.5TB firmware. I wanted to make sure before I flashed it that it would work with my 1TB and i wouldn't be doing something retarded. Thanks for any help given =).
Umm thank you.. but I have already read all of it and i realize that my hard drive IS one that needs to be upgraded. The problem is its Sunday and tomorrow is a holiday and I dont feel like waiting that long to get an email back from them. So I was wondering if someone with my drive or that knows this information would let me know if SD1A is the right firmware to flash to this exact drive.
