Hello guys,

I have currently an asus P35 P5KC motherboard. A E6750 is running on it. I will buy a E8500 soon. My bios version is actually the 0903.

My question is: is my bios version okay for my E8500 ? Or should i upgrade to the lastest version "1001" released on the asus website.

Best regards :hello:

The website will tell you what each BIOS revision "fixes". check to see which revision enables compatibility with the E8500, and update if needed.

Edit: I take that back. It appears that both 0903 and 1001 add support for new CPUs. Unfortunately nowhere could I find which CPUs they are referring to. The Asus website sucks. I would update the BIOS to be on the safe side.

According to the Asus website Bios 0903 does support the E8500.

Then what CPU's does 1001 support? Or did they just debug 0903? Link? Just curious.

You have to enter the motherboard or CPU info into the search at this link. This link doesn't show what 1001 supports. It just says 0903 supports the e8500, among others.

You can't find anything under the mobo choice, but I see where it is under the CPU choices. However, I don't see any CPU that requires the 1001 BIOS. Typical.

@suzana: If you are concerned about updating the BIOS, especially considering they show 0903 as sufficient, then install the CPU on 0903. If it has problems slap in the old one and update.
