Hi all, i just installed a new opty 180 in my socket 939 puter.

I have heard i may need to uptate bios, and want to check that i have the best driver for it

Using driver detective, i do not see the cpu listed- I assume its under something else

How do i know if i have to update the bios? If so, how do i do it?

Is there any easy program i can download to do this for me?

I checked amds website, but couldnt figure out which download was for the opty 180 :fou: They obviously assume everyone knows much more about computers than me!

Any and all help for this computeretardo much appreciated

If the computer boots into Windows, and both cores are recognized in task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete, click Performance tab) you shouldn't need a BIOS update. OR If you find it to be unstable (lockups or bluescreens).

If it runs OK then you should be fine.
