What's the difference between an E6400 Conroe vs the E6550?

Its an older cpu. and it still has a higher price, its kind of like how the E6600 is still more then a E6750....

It also has a faster FSB

All E6X50 cpus have a fsb of 1333 as oppsed to the 1066 of the older CPU's

Don't ask why its just the way things are(if a store buys something at a high price...they have to sell it to make a profit....but since Intel sells the newer cpus for less, the stores can sell them for less....). There are still Pentium 4's that cost more then a Q6600....

its lot easier to overclock the 1066 bus vs the 1333

intel price structure is strange - its hard to understand why an E8400 and E6400 are priced the same as the E6550. Intel is trying to match bus speeds to cpu's i guess.

why is a 2.13ghz 1066 cpu cost the same as the 1333 3ghz cpu? the only answer is intel greatly underestimated amd and the price war left intel with too many products and too little profit on the newer cpu's.

I thought the E6300/E6400 are being phased out, which would cause retailers to keep higher prices on them because of low supply. Not sure if the E6320/E6420 are being phased out as well.

So I don't think its intel, rather the retail store trying to make the most out of what they have left.
