Hi guys,

I wanna get the E8400 CPU for my GA965-DS3 rev(1.0) mobo, but still not to sure if the CPU will be compatible with the mobo!
According to the Gigabyte compatibility list, yes, but it seems to me there might be a catch!
Can anyone give me an indication plz?
Maybe someone with the same specs?

According to gigabyte it is with F13o beta bios The catch is its not officially supported by intel. The mobo has to overclock to get the cpu to run at stock speed. And the bios is a beta

maybe wait till the chip works properly ... a Q6600 would be a safer bet ... lower fsb eh?

I had the same problem on my Asus P5N32-E and my e8400. In my situation, they will never make a bios for P5N32-E that will support e8400. So pray you dont have the same problem :[
