I replaced mine with a 2500 rpm pwm fan and it didn't help one bit! I guess I should mention that I was trying to cool a B3 Q6600 at 3.4 ghz. The Xigge could not handle that kind of heat at all!

What are your volts? (I dont run this regularly but...) I get 45 deg. Idle, 72 deg. Load with VID 1.25 G0 @3.6GHz using 1.415V. Stock fan, running highest fan setting in bios.

I saw no need to replace the fan. I doubt you would get more than a 2 or 3c drop doing so.

the only reason I would ever replace the fan would be to lower the noise, though my video card drowns it out already anyway so there would be no point.

@OP:

1. Are you using the push pins?

2. Have you tried re-seating the HSF?
