So it looks like 65nm B3 Phenoms (the higher-clocked parts) will probably be released at roughly the same time as their 45nm stuff?
If so, I wonder whether that is likely to impact Phenom sales?
I quite fancy one, but have convinced myself that waiting until B3 is the best idea But maybe it won't be worth going to one anyway... assuming the 45nm parts ship on schedule.
Okay, I'll wait for 45nm. Until then, we'll just run one X2 3800+, one X2 4600+ and one P4 630. Hmmm, do I really want to keep a 630 going? I'd be better off going Phenom 65nm dual core than that.
What I want isn't out yet:
I want a 65 watt Phenom that's faster than 1.8 gigahertz (and that isn't even out yet, but the Phenom 9000 is promised -- still would work in an HTPC).
I want a 780G board with power saving for my PC, and my wife's PC, and hybrid Crossfire for our son's PC.
After all, I don't want to run the 3870x2 when I'm surfing the net. The only problem with waiting for AMD...is waiting for AMD.
I'd forgotten how well my HTPC handles HD with the integrated ATI graphics - with a 3800X2 in it she purrs along nice and cool. I did have to stick a Gigabyte passive 6600 / 256 in it tho.
Alas my globe on the projector just died 10mins ago ...
Digitimes and Fuad and the Inq and another all mentionned the 45nm ramping. A bit more detail would be appreciated tho ... damm sites all throw the punchline and nothing else but a bone.
C'mon Charlie ... dig something up for us !!
