Hi. well after nearly a month, reading reviews, reading forums, have finally finalized my build. But looking for some experienced eyes to have a roll through . Managed to scratch up some more money. I will be gaming on this system (latest and old games), apart from normal use.
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (2.3Ghz/Conroe/4MB/1333FSB/EMT64/XD/Dual Core)
HD - Seagate Baracuda 7200.10 250GB 7200rpm SATAII (2x250GB)
GPU - Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 512mb (dual slot cooling)
DVD Drive - Pioneer - DVR-212
LCD- Dell 20" SP2008WFP (1680x1050 resolution)
Keyboard Mouse COMBO - Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 Value Pack USB Black
[spaced it out for easier reading]
Reasons for buying:
CPU- Dont want to invest much on this, as maybe within 2 years, will upgrade to nahelam quad core
Motherboard - Want the raid option (I know it might be a waste, but have to experience myself to see)
RAM - Well people say its good
PSU - I plan to overclock my system later, and longer term plans are for CrossFire so want to be prepared
CASE - I liked the case
HD - (2x250GB) - Will raid this with the OS, only after i buy another drive as main storage (documents, videos, etc)
GPU - At 1680x1050 resolutions, I think this will be enough. Dont mind a slight drop in settings at this stage
DVD Drive - Was the cheaper one, dont really burn much (and budget contraints).
LCD- The Dell is a glossy screen with truelife. Had truelife on an inspiron laptop, loved it.
Keyboard Mouse COMBO - Well budget constraints :I
I have pretty much tried to keep a balance between the different components (due to budget constraints). I guess some minor tweaking could be done, and would really appreciate any feedback, comments or suggestions. THANKS
EDIT: I do plan to overclock the system. I would probably go for CrossFire later in 2009 when i update to a quad core.
(have other concerns regarding static, but will post in another thread, as thats a separate matter )

about 1890AUD. 1655 US$ (approx.). However, was promised I would get some sort of discount as buying all parts from the same place, dont know how much yet (The total price turns out to be fairly similar also when buying separate from separate shops). Also hoping that next week Dell might have some cash discount on that Lcd. I still have about a week before I purchase, as im out of city.
