XP Windows Installer Issues

Hello,
When XP service pack 3 boots up, Windows Installer message box just keeps flashing and flashing and causes very slow boot.
Can you help me get rid of it?

Two issues here - One is the flashing and the other is slowness.

Try this:

Start > Run > sfc /scannow

This will run System File Checker and verify that all files are correct. You may find a corrupt file that the system has a hard time reading causing the slowness.

Perhaps try loading/reloading the latest Windows Installer.
