Nothing fancy but,

2.4 to 3.0 HT, 2Gig of RAM, SATA etc. The major boost is on the display ie
4x to 8x, but I'll only change the card later.

Grr - that makes it slightly better than mine (mine only has 1 gig ram,
otherwise it is very similar). Do you know what the processor is (Northwood
or Prescott)?

Perhaps, but to be able to have a PC with the above configuration at work is
considered luxury, fit for a God like creature ...

Duely noted. For my work experience role I use a Celeron 333Mhz (running
XP), but the tech guys there must have worked some magic, as my old celeron
533 ran slower (running 98, possibly had less ram too). You must be the
manager :-p.

Nah, but there is a slight difference. Prescott has a longer pipeline (so as
a result is slightly slower for the equivilent GHz, but more GHz, can be
squeezed out of it).

Well, on the bright side everytime I change to a new PC, someone will
definitely benefit as I'll pass down my PC to them people. I term it as
donation to the poor ;)

Ah.. So maby I should have gone for it so it could do a better job of
heating my room (my northwood runs at around 50C in cool temperatures
(currently (shortly after starup) it's running at 44C (111F)).

Oh dear god. All that heat is staying in your CPU instead of going into
your room where it belongs.

Get a water cooler I suggest this one
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/produc [...] 3&code=021

Then overvolt or overclock your northwood (or both preferably ;) and la
voila! You have an instant room heater without having the gh3yest thing
since Mr Bean in your computer

Water + Electricity. I'm still not to keen on that idea (and I don't think I
want to trust myself with it either)

Water sealed inside plastic, copper, and aluminum. There is very
little that can cool a computer better than a water cooler. (liquid
nitrogen is one exception. There are condenser units that basically
refrigerate the chip itself, but you'd have to be careful with
condensation I would think...)

So you think you need one house with electricity and one for water?

What about a juicer? Do you have to charge up kinetic energy and
disconnect the power source before beginning the juice process?

Electric toothbrush? Illegal?

Well anything that will cool below the temperature of the air can have that
problem.

There are peltiers, compressors, liquid nitrogen, Water cooling, and air
cooling.

Water and air cooling are basically the same thing. Just water cooling is
using water as the medium for carrying heat.

Liquid nitrogen is just like precooling liquid, and it is pretty ridiculous
for any regular applications.

Peltiers do kinda stand on their own. The problem with peltiers are the
max throughput of heat, since heat will be made in real time, and the
peltier itself will be making heat. Using a peltier in conjuction with a
compressor might be fun . . but not altogether practical. Still,
condensation is an issue.

Nah - they've refined that enough. They have next to no chance of mixing
where I am - we have gas hot water. We do however have a washing machine...

Meh - I use my mussles (if I don't buy it from a shop)

Got me there. It says it can saftely be immersed in water though (he says as
he gets an electric shock).
