MSI P7N SLI Platinum registers Q6600 as 2 cores only

hi. this is my spec:

MSI P7N SLI Platinum
Core 2 Quad Q6600
Geil 2x2GB PC6400
Palit Geforce 8800 GT 1GB
Western Dig 150GB SATA
Seagate 150GB SATA
750W PSU

my problem is windows report that only 2 cores are active. these are;

1. Task Manager (Performance Tab and Processes Tab when setting affinity)
2. System Information; Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2399 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
3. Device Manager
4. CPU-Z 144

also at http://systemrequirementslabs.com/

they report:

CPU
Recommended: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz/Athlon X2 4400+ or better
You Have: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

does anybody else have this problem?

i thnk what they are saying is you might go to msi and download the new bios so the board will recognize the newer cpu its common that the mother board was made before the cpu so u will have to update /flash our bios
