Dell laptops problem with cursor

please can anyone give advice. Whilst typing the cursor jumps to a different line thus any document I am typing makes no sense. I am having to check after very couple of words.

It has happened 4 times whilst typing these couple of sentences

Please help

Get a mouse and disable the touchpad.

it happens with touch pad and mouse, I cant think of anything else I can do apart throw it out the window lol

So, did you disable the touch pad when the mouse is connected?
