I'm trying to update/resuscitate a Sony desktop I've had down my basement for a couple of years and want to install a new optical drive. I've tried three different drives (LG, ASUS & Pioneer) but after installation and updating of firmware files, the computer tells me the drive is a CD-ROM, not a DVD drive when I try and copy files. Why is that? The motherboard is an Intel D915GRO/PRO. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
