Asus Crosshair w/ ATI 3850HD Crossfire?

Can this mobo run ATI cards in Crossfire config? its north bridge is a 590 SLI MCP i believe, it has everything that i need great mobo great overclocking features and its an AM2 board.

In the past, I read that there are some driver hacks that will allow such a setup. But why not just get a single 3870X2 card instead? Then you have similar power to a Crossfire setup while only using one slot, and that will work with ease on your board.

that hd 3970x2 with 1gb ram has had problems with the fan, so im geting somthing more Cost effective. the mobo is ... well beautiful, has everything id need, a res3t button for the bios on the board, as well as power button and reset button for direct power on the board (great for teseting)
